Privacy policy for Focused Communication Inbox

Focused Communication Inbox is a local desktop application for its owner’s personal use. This policy describes its use of Google account data.

Data accessed. With the owner’s consent, the app reads Gmail mailbox and message data needed to show conversations and maintain a sync position. It requests permission to send Gmail messages so the owner can reply or compose from the selected account. Each Google account is authorized separately.

How data is used. The app presents messages for local review, supports local triage and drafts, and sends email only when the owner initiates a send. It does not use Gmail data for advertising or sell that data.

Where data is stored. Imported messages, review state, drafts, and sync checkpoints are stored in the app’s local data directory on the owner’s Mac. OAuth credentials are stored in macOS Keychain. The app’s local service listens on the Mac’s loopback interface. The app does not operate a separate cloud service that receives Gmail message data.

Sharing. The app transmits requests to Google to read or send the owner’s Gmail data. When the owner sends an email, Google delivers the content to the chosen recipient. The app does not transmit Gmail message data to its separate Slack or Google Messages connectors.

Retention and control. Disconnecting a Gmail account stops that connection and removes its stored credential, while previously imported local message history remains until the owner deletes the app’s local data. The owner can revoke the app’s Google authorization in their Google Account settings. For help locating or deleting local data, contact zach@untitledcreative.co.
